Partnership for Development Serving Allegany, Cattaraugus, and
Chautauqua Counties
As a unit of
government, Southern Tier
West Regional Planning & Development Board was
created in 1969 by a resolution of the County Legislatures of Allegany,
Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua Counties in New York State under the
authority of Article 12B of the NYS General Municipal Law.
The Southern Tier West Board consists of sixteen members, with five
members appointed by each of the three County Legislatures and one Board
member appointed by the Seneca Nation of Indians. Southern Tier
West was founded on the philosophy that efforts on the regional level
can effectively augment those of the counties and communities in solving
problems and improving the total environment. Southern Tier West is headquartered in Salamanca (Cattaraugus County)
and serves Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua Counties of NYS.
Our MISSION is to help coordinate and enhance planning and development
activities in Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua Counties, so as to
promote social, physical, and economic development in these counties.

* * LOCAL FOODS SURVEY

Dear Farmer, Grower, or Food Producer,
Southern Tier West Regional Planning & Development Board has been
working with our constituents in Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua
Counties to assess the current capacity of local food production and to
gauge the feasibility of developing several new strategies and programs
geared to grow the local food economy. We would like to ask you to take
a few minutes to respond to the Food Producer Survey. Your responses are
logged in anonymously, and we would appreciate your honest and
thoughtful responses so that we have valid results that can inform our
future strategies. You have the option to provide your contact
information if you would like us to add you to the list of stakeholder
conversations or if you would allow us to contact you for future input
and idea sharing.
